The names often change. The importance of the game rarely does. Watauga travels to Taylorsville to take on Alexander Central tonight in a key Northwestern 4-A Conference showdown. Then again, these teams are used to playing in key showdowns since they are often battling for playoff positions.

Watauga to run on home track

In what will be more of a tune-up than anything, Watauga’s track and field team will host a meet today at Jack Groce Stadium. At 4:30 p.m., A.C. Reynolds’ entire team and partial teams from McDowell and Freedom will compete with Watauga and help them prepare for the Taco Bell meet in Columbia, S.C., Saturday.
