Having emerged as a leader and a threat on the soccer field, Brittany Bolick caught the eye of Eric Terrell, the coach at Charleston Southern. Monday, she signed her letter of intent to attend and play for Charleston Southern, and to accept their full athletic scholarship they had offered her.

TAYLORSVILLE — Against one of the toughest pitchers they will face this season, Watauga’s softball team dropped a 4-0 decision Friday to Ashe County on a neutral field in Taylorsville. The athletic department at Alexander Central was kind enough to host the game when neither team’s facilities were available because of recent winter weather.

Rounding out their weekend road trip, Watauga’s baseball team turned in two learning experiences at North Forsyth and South Mecklenburg, losing to the Vikings 6-2 for the second time in two days Friday and then losing 12-2 to the Sabres in six innings Saturday.
