Beginning Friday, Feb. 11, the Watauga Democrat will release TV Times, a redesigned, user-friendly television schedule that combines the convenient design of a magazine with a vibrant full color layout.
The magazine, which will be included in every Friday edition of the Watauga Democrat, will replace High Country Viewing — a publication that was formerly published each Wednesday.
“We’re very pleased to offer TV Times to our readers,” Tommy Wilson, group vice president for High Country Media said.
“TV Times will not only benefit viewers with its user-friendly design, it will also all give our advertisers more flexibility and more available full-color pages. Every Friday, our readers will get more value out of their Watauga Democrat.”
TV Times will also be released in the weekly editions of the Avery Journal-Times and the Blowing Rocket every Thursday.
The magazine will include a comprehensive daytime TV schedule as well as a primetime grid. Inside, viewers will also find an entertainment-related news story, a crossword puzzle and a weekly movie guide.
“Unlike most television schedules, TV Times will also offer a color-coded primetime grid that will immediately show viewers what’s on based on their interests,” Fred Germann, High Country Media director of sales said.
Shows highlighted in green will be news programs; blue for sports; red for movies and yellow for talk and children’s programs.
“Advertisers can also take advantage of our new color capabilities because any page can feature full-process color,” Germann said.
“From the beginning, we’ve known TV Times would be more expensive to produce,” Wilson said. “But, we felt like it was a superior product and we wanted to offer our readers and advertisers the best media products available.”
“I’m looking forward to seeing the public’s response,” he added.
